Getting Started

How do I make an appointment?

To make an initial appointment, please contact me either by telephone or email. We can then discuss your needs and arrange a time that is suitable for you to meet.

I can offer sessions throughout the week, including evenings. I can also accommodate some requests for sessions on a Saturday.

Initial Assessment

All clients will be offered an initial 50 minute appointment whereby basic information is taken to help me to understand you and your needs.

This is also the chance for you to ask questions about the counselling process and to get to know me and decide if you would like us to work together.

If at the end of the meeting you decide that you would like to work with me, 6 sessions will initially be suggested. However, this will be reviewed as we move forward as you may find that you don't need that many sessions. This is something we will discuss along the way.

Length and Frequency of sessions

All sessions offered are 50 minutes in length. For the best results, counselling is recommended on a weekly basis. However, this can be negotiated in our first session to suit your individual needs.

We will review our work together at regular intervals to make sure that you are getting what you need out of your sessions and to reflect on any progress made. Additional sessions requested will be booked as and when appropriate.

We will also discuss when it is felt that our work together is coming to an end. When this time comes, we will plan our ending to ensure that you feel comfortable and that you are satisfied with what we have achieved together.

Cost

Sessions will be charged at £35 per session. This can be paid either each week in cash, or multiple sessions can be paid for in advance by cheque or directly via PayPal. If other payment methods would be more suitable for you, I am happy to discuss this with you in our initial session.
